Top 5 "The Who" Kid-Friendly Songs

By Rachel "La Tia", Blog Contributor

The next band that we're tackling is The Who. Who, you ask? The Who is who! It's the UK rock band that is definitely on the upbeat side of Rock and Mod. So upbeat that they would routinely destroy their instruments on stage after a show. Banded together in 1964, this group has sold over 100 million copies of their albums worldwide. The Who even performed at the famed Woodstock Festival.  So take a break from those repetitive kid's tunes and get your little one into a band you love.  Here's our top 5 list of kid-friendly The Who favorites.

The Kids are Alright from the band’s first album My Generation released in 1965. Fun fact: "The Kids are Alright" wasn't released as a single until six months after the LP's initial release.

I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl
That's fine, I know them all pretty well
But I know sometimes I must get out in the light
Better leave her behind with the kids, they’re alright
The kids are alright

I’m Free from the Tommy album of 1969.

I'm free
I'm free
And freedom tastes of reality
I'm free
I'm free
An' I'm waiting for you to follow me

I’m One from the band’s 1973 rock opera album Quadrophenia.

But I'm one
I am one
And I can see
That this is me
And I will be
You'll all see
I'm the one

My Generation from the 1965 album My Generation. My Generation has two points on this list!

Why don't you all f-fade away (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
Don't try to dig what we all s-s-s-say (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm not trying to 'cause a big s-s-sensation (Talkin' 'bout my generation)
I'm just talkin' 'bout my g-g-g-generation (Talkin' 'bout my generation)

Relax from the album The Who Sell Out released in the year of 1967.

Relax and settle down
Let your mind go round
Lay down on the ground
And listen to the sound
Of the band
Hold my hand

Bonus Round!! It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t add this song to the list. Heinz Baked Beans from the album The Who Sell Out released back in 1967. Since the song is pretty simple, we just included the entire lyrics. Sing along now!

One, two, three, four!
What's for tea, Mum?
What's for tea, darling?
Darling, I said, "what's for tea?"
What's for tea, daughter?
Heinz baked beans
