Unique Wonder Woman Crafts Kids Can Make for Mother's Day 2017

Mother's Day is on Sunday, May 14th and coincidentally the new Wonder Woman movie is coming out June 2nd.  We thought the timing was perfect and a great theme for your little ones to create a unique gift for the "Wonder Woman" in your life!  Nothing makes kids more excited than showing their mom that they are their super hero.  Store-bought gifts and cards are nice, but they lack the personal touch - and we all know that is what moms appreciate most.

Even your young toddlers can make Mother's Day crafts with a little help from older siblings and dad.

Here are some of our favorites:

Picture Frame

This is a great go-to idea because there are so many ways to make a cute frame!  Here are a few thought starters:

1) Grab some construction paper, nice card stock, corrugated cardboard or thick scrapbooking paper and cut in any shape.  Cut an opening in the middle for a cute photo or even your child's latest class photo.  Buy an old Wonder Woman comic book or find some comic book images online and create a unique collage for mom.  Add some flair using markers, stickers, paint or glitter (if you dare).  Glue a magnet to the back, and its complete!

2) Purchase a simple frame or make one using construction paper or craft/popsicle sticks and decorate the "photo" area using a Wonder Woman lego figure.  Create a cute message for mom, decorate and wrap!

Decorative Jar for Candle or Bath Salts

Even Wonder Woman needs some relaxation and pampering!  Give mom a nice candle or make mom some homemade bath salts (close adult supervision required with this one) and present to her in a cute WW themed jar!

To make the ultimate Wonder Woman jar go to your local craft store and get a mason jar (or maybe something a little smaller if you're going to use for a votive candle), decorate using glitter, paint, ribbon and tulle to create a cape for your jar.  Utilize the Wonder Woman logo by tracing or winging it.  Present to mom and then let her relax :-)

For bath salts, you can purchase or try to make your own - mix 3 cups of Epsom salts, 2 cups of baking soda, and 1 cup of table salt. Add about twenty drops of a fragrant essential oil. Lavender, sandalwood and chamomile are good choices. Mix thoroughly.

Decorative Flowerpot

We love this idea because it involves a few different steps that your little one will love - decorating and then planting.

Un-glazed terra cotta flowerpots are easy to paint and you can find them at your local hardware store. Use acrylic paint to create a cute design. Add a decorative touch with with markers, glitter and stickers. When your creation is dry, fill it with potting soil and plant a few seeds or buy some red and yellow flowers that are already grown. Don't forget to water if you plant far in advance of Mother's Day.

Wonder Woman Tiara and Bracelet/Cuffs

If you really want mom to feel like Wonder Woman let her dress the part with a simple DIY tiara and matching bracelet/cuffs.  This is a great addition to any gift (or a gift in itself)

You can create these with construction paper or felt.  Cut the needed shapes, add red stars to the items, maybe some glitter and either string or elastic and they are complete!

Mom is sure to appreciate these simple, very original and thoughtful crafts. They will give her fond Mother's Day memories and remind her that she is the true superhero of the family!
